Explanations at the tree trunk  ans Sheep Story are two of my early works and part of a series entitled Nature Lyric Video Improvisations. For this series, I worked alone, submerging myself in natural environments for long periods at a time.

EXPLANATIONS AT THE TREE TRUNK

DVD-Projection with sound, 3' 40''

About this work:

As the narrator and central figure, I was a part of the environment that I was investigating. For this project, I used the sound of language to reinforce, and at the same time, undercut the enchanting images.

SHEEP STORY

DVD-Projection with sound, 6' 20''

About this work:

In Sheep Story, I literally weave myself into the environment through investigation. The ways in which the images are framed directly reflect my state of mind. As the central figure, I hold centre stage, however the backdrop of the environment that I explore allows for a completely different reading of this position, with the central figure becoming essentially ambiguous.
